Agriochyros ACH | -chiros ef | Agnochiros B {'ri' misread as 'n'}

aper AC f | aper B | apar e

verres B | verres e | verrus ACH

verres porcus om. f

Translation:

Agriochyros is Greek for Latin aper {"boar"} verres {id.} or porcus silvestris {"wild pig"}.

Commentary:

Greek ἀγριόχοιρος /agriókhoiros/ means "wild swine" (LSJ).

The word is a compound of ἀγριο- {"wild"} + χοῖρος /khoîros/ {"pig, swine"}. In medieval Greek the diphthong οι {/oi/} was changed to ι {/i/} resulting in */agriókhiros/, which is what Simon is transcribing.
