Carcinon grece cancer morbus sed per .k. melius ut infra.

Apparatus:

Carcinon ABC e | Carcion f

ut infra melius f

Translation:

Carcinon is Greek for the disease called cancer, but it is better written with 'k', as below in the entry Karkinos; q.v.

Commentary:

καρκίνος /karkínos/, Simon shows the accusative sg. form καρκίνον /karkínon/, is originally a "crab" and then extended to mean "eating sore or ulcer, cancer".
