Cascasum Stephanus pro chax quod est papaver scripsit.
Apparatus:
Ms. f has only Cascasuʒ and then skips a line to the next entry replacing its headword Casamum but adopting that entry’s wording: panis porcinus ciclamen malum terre idem.
chax AC jp | cax B e
quod est papaver (ut add. e) scripsit | s. q. e. p. B
Translation:
Cascasum is what Stephanus writes for {Arabic} chax, which is {in Latin} papaver {"poppy"}.
Commentary:
Stephanus in his Breviarium writes: micõ … papauer … chaschasũ [[1]].
Chax or cax is an early copying error for *chaxchax or *caxcax.
