Cathethirizin grece Paulus ca. de stranguris est, vesice clisterizatio seu per viam virge medicatio.


Translation:

"Cathethirizin" is Greek and describes, as Paul says in the chapter On Strangury, the administration of bladder clysters or medication through the penis.


Commentary:

Transurethral catheters are described here, with a term derived from the Greek verb kathēterizein. Interestingly, the use of the term "virga" here and with reference to the siringa (see link below) suggests that mainly male patients received such therapies.
