Translation:

Cathiladhib is Arabic for Latin strangulator lupi {Latin (lit.) "wolf strangler", but the Arabic word means lit. "wolf killer".


Commentary:

ﻗﺎﺗﻞ ﺍﻟﺬﺌﺐ /qātil aḏ-ḏiʔb/ (lit.) "killer of the wolf". Wehr (1976): ﺫﺌﺐ /ḏiʔb/ "dieb (Canis anthus), jackal; wolf".

In his entry Strangulator lupi q.v. Simon states that strangulator lupi {"wolf strangler"} is another name for the plant aconitum.
