Drimis
From Simon Online
Drimis grece acer.
Apparatus:
Entry om. f
In B Drimis is not given beginning of the line headword status, but it is part of the column beginning with Drimifagia.
Translation:
Drimis is Greek for Latin acer {"sharp"}.
Commentary:
Greek δριμύς /drimýs/ means "piercing, sharp, keen; (eyes or taste) pungent, acrid" (LSJ). Simon's transcription portrays a late Greek pronunciation, where classical Greek υ {like French 'u', German 'ü'} is pronounced ι, {/y/ > /i/}, /drimís/.
