Apparatus:

Dubene (-bẽe B) ABCD jp | Dhubene f | Dhuben e

Translation:

Dubene is Arabic for Latin musca {"a fly"}.

Commentary:

Cf. Vocabulista, ed. Schiaparelli (1871: 102): ﺫﺑﺎﻧﺔ /ḏubbāna/ Musca [[1]]; ed. Schiaparelli (1871: 485): MUSCA ﺫﺑﺎﻧﺔ /ḏubbāna/, ﺫﺑﺎﻥ /ḏubbān/ [[2]].
Dozy (1877-81: I.483): ﺫﺑﺎﻥ /ḏubbān/, vulg. pour ﺫﺑﺎﺏ /ḏubbāb/ mouche {i.e. "fly"}. According to Dozy ﺫﺑﺎﻥ /ḏubbān/, is a "vulgar" form compared to ﺫﺑﺎﺏ /ḏubbāb/.
Cf. Wehr (1976): ﺩﺑﺎﺑﺔ /ḏubāba/ "fly".
