Translation:

Duhum hebelesamum is the word the same author {i.e. the previously mentioned Stephanus} writes for opobalsamum.

Commentary:

Simon refers to Stephanus who in his Breviarium writes: Opobalsamõ … duhũ elbelisam [[1]].

Simon's Duhum hebelesamum is ﺩﻫﻦ ﺣﺐ ﺍﻟﺒﻠﺴﺎﻦ /duhn ḥabb al-balasān/ and Stephanus' duhũ elbelisam is ﺩﻫﻦ ﺍﻟﺒﻠﺴﺎﻦ /duhn al-balasān/

Cf. Siggel p.35: ﺩﻫﻦ /duhn/ 1) Öl; 2) Auszug aus e. Pflanzenteil od. e. sonstigen Substanz, Extrakt, Saft. {i.e. “1) oil; 2) extract from a part of a plant or some other substance, juice”}.

Wehr: ﺣﺐ /ḥabb/ “grains, seed; cereals, corn; kernels, granules”; Siggel p. 27: ﺣﺐ /ḥabb/ Korn, Kern, Samenkorn {i.e. “grain, kernel, seed”}.

Wehr: ﺑﻠﺴﺎﻥ /balasān/ “balsam, balm; balsam tree; black elder (bot.).
Siggel p.21: ﺑﻠﺴﺎﻥ /balasān/ Balsam v. Balsamodendron Gileadense (Burserac.) {i.e. the balsam of B. Gileadense"}.

Dozy I, p. 110 s.v. ﺑﻠﺴﺎﻥ /balasān/ mentions: ﺣﺐ ﺍﻟﺒﻠﺴﺎﻦ /ḥabb al-balasān/ saying that the pharmacists understand this term to mean the fruit of the balsam-tree but that it is more probable that it denotes the liquid that is exuded from the balsam.
