Elaphos grece cervus.
Apparatus:
Elaphos AC | Elafos B ef
Translation:
Elaphos is Greek for Latin cervus {"stag, deer"}.
Commentary:
Greek ἔλαφος /élaphos/ "deer, stag, hind".
The Latin and the Greek word have survived into zoological Latin as Cervus elaphus L, "red deer", an animal whose wide distributional range covers Europe, Central Asia, Asia Minor and North Africa.
