Translation:
Guidegi in Arabic are two veins in the neck {i.e. "jugular veins"} from which blood is let. Occasionally the word is found as alguidegi in Albucasim chapter De flebotomia {"On phlebotomy"}.

Wehr (1976): ﻭﺩﺝ /wadağ/, also: ﻭﺩﺍﺝ /widāğ/ "jugular vein". Phonetically the pronunciation Simon is trying to portray is [wi'dæ:ʤ] (IPA).
