doctrina (-trina- e) AC ef | docteĩa B

arabica om. AC

Translation:

Hahage is Arabic for Latin ebur {"ivory"} according to the liber de doctrina arabica.

Commentary:

Simon's often quoted source, the liber de doctrina arabica, has so far not been identified, but cf, what must be a similar glossary/dictionary – Vocabulista - (ed. Schiaparelli) [[1]]: (1871: 139): ﻋﺎﺝ /ʕāğ/ Ebur; (1871: 359); EBUR ﻋﺎﺝ /ʕāğ/.

Cf. Wehr (1976): ﻋﺎﺝ /ʕāğ/ "ivory"; haagi could possibly represent the adjective: ﻋﺎﺟﻰ /ʕāğī/ "of ivory".
