Iacot arabice lapis iacintus.

Apparatus:

iacintus (-cĩt- B) ABC e | iacinctus f

Translation:

Iacot is Arabic for Latin lapis iacintus {lit. "hyacinth stone"}.

Commentary:

Cf. Siggel (1950: 89): ﻳﺎﻗﺩ ,ﻳﺎﻗﻮﺕ {/yāqud/} /yāqūt/ "Rubin, Saphir, Korund" v. g. /hyákinthos/ ὑάκινθος {i.e. "ruby, sapphire, corundum" from Greek /hyákinthos/ ὑάκινθος}.

Lapis iacintus, more traditionally lapis hyacinthus was the name of a precious stone of the colour of a hyacinth, most likely blue/purple, perhaps an aquamarine.
