Kabar arabice capparis post grecum .b. pro .p. littera ponentes.

Apparatus:

Kabar ABC ejp | Kabbar f
capparis | caparis B
littera | lict’a p

Translation:

Kabar is Arabic for Latin capparis {"capers"} taken from Greek. In Arabic the letter "p" was changed for "b".

Commentary:

Kabar:
Wehr (1976); ﻗﺑﺎﺮ /qubbār, qabbār/ "capers (bot.)" but also ﻛﺒﺮ /kabar/ ”capers; caper shrub”.
Arabic lacks the sound /p/ and in loan words containing this sound /p/ is replaced by /b/ or /f/.
Siggel (1950: 62) ﻛﺒﺮ /kabar/ and ﻛﺒﺎﺭ {not transcribed: /kabbār/} Fr. V. Caparis spinosa, Kapern {“fruit of C. spinosa”}; κάππαρις /kápparis/

Simon has an entry for this same word but spelt with "c": Cabar.
The Greek word is κάππαρις /kápparis/.
