Translation:

Kastaran is Arabic for Latin betonica {"betony"}, which is in Greek kestron and in Macer cestron.

Commentary:

Simon is alluding to Macer Floridus, 11, 429, ed. Choulant (1832: 46): Betonicam soliti sunt Cestron dicere Graeci – "The Greeks call betonica {'betony'} Cestron".

Cf. Siggel (1950: 59): ﻗﺴﻄﺮﻭﻥ /qisṭurūn/, ﻗﺴﻂﻭﻥ/qisṭūn/ Betonica (Stachys) recta (Lab.); κέστρον.

The Arabic word is ultimately a loan from Greek κέστρον /késtron/, which is a synonym for βεττονική /bettonikḗ/ {"betony"}.
