Translation:
Korone is the Greek word for Latin cornix {“crow”}.
Commentary:
κορώνη /korṓnē/ “a sea-bird, possibly shearwater”. 2. "crow, including the hooded crow Corvus cornix and prob. also the rook, C. corone". Liddell & Scott.
Latin cornix and Greek κορώνη /korṓnē/ as corone have survived into zoological Latin.
