Murice grece tamariscus ut apud Dyascoridem. Stephanus muriki est tarfa quod est arabicum.

Apparatus:

muriki AC | mutiki B e {‘r’ misread as ‘t’} | muthichi p | murilia f {‘k’ misread as ‘li’} | muchia? j
tarfa | tarfu j
{arabicum) etcetera add. j

Translation:

Murice is Greek for Latin tamariscus {"tamarisk"} as is stated in Dyascorides. Stephanus writes that Greek muriki equals tarfa, the latter being the Arabic term.

Commentary:

Simon refers to Dyascorides alphabeticus [f 50v] [[1]] s.v. Mirice or to Dioscorides Longobardus, 1, ed. Hoffmann & Auracher (1899: 90) [[2]] also 1, 97, ed. by Mihăescu (1938: 50-1), De tamariciu id est mirice {“On tamaricium, which is mirice {“in Greek}”.

Stephanus in his Breviarium writes: muriki … tarafa [[3]].
N.b. μυρίκη /myríkē/ is Greek for "tamarisk".
Stephanus transliterates the Greek letter "Υ,υ" {"Y,y"} not by the classicist /Y,y/ or the itacist /I,i/ but by /U,u/", which is probably just an etymologising device. Furthermore his form muriki portrays an itacist pronunciation of η {/ē/} > ι {/i/}, so he most likely pronounced */miríki/.
