Translation:

Sus is Arabic for Latin liquiritia {"licorice"}; as in e.g. Arabic: rob sus, which means juice of liquiritia {"licorice"}.


Commentary:

Wehr (1976): ﺭﺏ /rubb/ "rob, thickened juice of fruit; mash, pulp". ﺳﻮﺱ /sūs/ "licorice, (Glycyrrhiza glabra; bot.)". ﺭﺏ ﺳﻮﺱ /rubb sūs/ "licorice juice".
