Ule grece cicatrix livor vel uli ulcus.

Apparatus:

Ule ABC e | Ulo? f {‘e’ misread as ‘o’?}

Translation:

Ule is Greek for Latin cicatrix "scar" and livor {"bruise"}, and Greek uli is Latin ulcus {"sore, ulcer"}.

Commentary:

Cf. Greek οὐλαί /oulaí/ (= pl.) "wound scarred over, scar"; sg. οὐλή /oulḗ/. Simon's forms shows the late Greek pronunciations pl. /ulé/ and sg. /ulí/, αι > ε /ai > e/ and η > ι /ē > i/.
