Zedef:
Wehr (1976): ﺼﺪﻒ /ṣadaf/ "pearl oyster, sea shell, conch". Siggel (1950: 48): ﺼﺪﻒ /ṣadaf/ Muschel {"mussel"}.
conchylium:
The Latin word conchylium means "any testaceous animal; in partic. an oyster". The word is taken from Greek κογχύλιον /konkhýlion/ with a similar meaning.
