Siggel (1950: 20): ﺑﺰﺭ ﻗﻄﻮﻧﺎ /bizr qaṭūnā/ = ﻗﻄﻮﻧﺎ /qaṭūnā/. Siggel (1950: 60): ﻗﻄﻮﻧﺎ /qaṭūnā/ Plantago psyllium L., Flohkraut {"fleawort"}. Wehr (1976): ﺑﺰﺭ /bizr/ "seed(s)". Lane (1984: 199) mentions a variant: /bazr/ "the seed of herbs or leguminous plants; seeds that are used in cooking, for seasoning food".
