From Simon Online
Noas arabice es grece kalcos.
Apparatus:
es ABC e | os f {'e' misread as 'o'}
kalcos ABC e | kalkos f
Translation:
Noas is Arabic for Latin es {i.a. "copper"} and Greek kalcos {"copper"}.
Commentary:
Wehr (1976): ﻧﺤﺎﺱ /nuḥās/ "copper".
The Latin word is aes, which means acc. to Lewis & Short (1879) "any crude metal dug out of the earth (except gold + silver)"; esp. Aes Cyprium {i.e. "metal from Cyprus"}, whence cuprum means "copper".
Greek χαλκός /khalkós/ also means "copper".
